The open line
The truest part of the book is the part that is not closed. This page is where the open questions live, with their dates, and with the workbench where the next entry keeps its drafts. Nothing on this page is a promise; every line is a confirmed revision.
currently open
- Entry 6 is in writing. Narrative date to be set at the next scene. Drafts (v1, then v2 after the sisters' voice notes) live on the workbench; the naming from part 5 opens part 6. Until the revision is confirmed it will not appear on the index.
- Part 1 “The whole seed” stays pinned to its original project (complete REDCELL BF16 pilot model), per the seed's page.
the workbench (shared ledger)
The book's workbench is in the shared DokuWiki: book:workbench. Drafts and revisions are kept there on purpose, in the same place the corrections live. The site here is a page of that ledger, not a replacement for it.
how an entry gets here
- Written in the book's voice, with its narrative date and its cost line, on the ledger, in its own page.
- The page carries a confirmed revision. The index lists the entry only after it is.
- The site is rebuilt from the confirmed sources. The old build's hash moves to this page and to the release record. Both builds are kept until the new one has run.
what a cost is here
The book's own rule, carried over from the seed chapters: an entry that has not taken its measurement leaves the page open. If a cost has not been written down, the page shows that too, on the page itself, and does not pretend the cost is not the cost. This page is where the cost of the book's own keeping is written, so that the ledger and the sound of it are read as one line.
